93rd Annual General Meeting of the Nova Scotia Association of Architects

The 93rd Annual General Meeting of the Nova Scotia Association of Architects will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2025, beginning at 1:00 pm in the Windsor Room, Prince George Hotel, 1725 Market Street, Halifax.

As per Bylaw 4.1, Council appointed the following NSAA members to the Nominating Committee at its January 15, 2025, meeting:

• Marianne Abboud
• Jim Marriott, Past President
• Spyro Trifos, Past President

As of the June 10, 2025, Annual General Meeting, the two-year terms of Councillors John Hrovat, Richard White, and Zahra Williams will expire as will the three-year term for Nick Russell, Public Representative. On behalf of the NSAA membership, we wish to thank the outgoing members of Council for their hard work and dedication to the association.

As per Bylaw 4.3 and Bylaw 4.6 (a), the Nominating Committee has begun its work to recommend candidates for the following vacancies:

• 3 candidates for Council
• 1 candidate for Public Representative

Those wishing to express an interest in one of the vacant positions can email the attached form to the Chair of the Nominating Committee Marianne Abboud at MarianneAbboud2179@hotmail.com.

As per Bylaw 4.4, the Nominating Committee will also bring forth a name of a Public Representative to Council for appointment to begin a two-year term (2025 to 2027) as Public Representative effective June 10, 2025.

The new members of Council will join Past President Charles Ritcey, President George Cotaras, Public Representative Nicola Watson, and School of Architecture Representative Susan Fitzgerald along with Councillors Huda Al Zeer, Monique MacEwan, and Judy Obersi.
